Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to bring my own harness?
We provide all required CSA-approved harnesses and lanyards for the practical portion of the course. You are welcome to bring your own equipment for a professional inspection if you prefer to train with what you use on the job.
Is there a practical component to the course?
Yes. This course includes a mandatory practical evaluation where participants must demonstrate correct equipment inspection, proper harness fitting, and the safe use of fall protection systems in a controlled environment.
How long is the certificate valid?
Following OHS guidelines and industry best practices, fall protection certification is valid for three years. We recommend recertification sooner if workplace conditions change or if a worker has not performed tasks at heights for an extended period.
Is this course recognized by employers?
Absolutely. Valley First Aid’s training meets legal OHS requirements and is recognized by employers across the construction, industrial, and warehousing sectors in British Columbia as a mark of safety compliance.
What equipment or ID should I bring?
Please bring government-issued photo ID for the verification process. For the hands-on portion, you must wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear (work boots preferred) and clothing that allows for full range of motion while wearing a harness.
