Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our certification courses and workplace compliance.
Is this enough for my workplace?
Yes. In British Columbia, this course meets WorkSafeBC requirements for basic workplace first aid certification for small crews in many low-risk environments.
Is there a lot of writing or reading?
Our training is designed to be highly practical. While there is a referenced manual used in class and a multiple-choice quiz, the primary focus is on mastering skills through practice.
Do I need special equipment for the class?
All training kits and manikins are provided. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes suitable for floor-based practical work with our CPR manikins.
How long is my certificate valid?
The Canadian Red Cross certificate is valid for three years. We recommend booking a recertification course before your current card expires to remain compliant.
Is Emergency First Aid different from Standard First Aid?
Yes. Emergency First Aid is a 1-day course focused on essential life support. Standard First Aid is a 2-day course that covers a broader range of injuries and illness.
