Common Questions

Is there a written exam?

Yes, there is a short multiple-choice exam at the end of the course. Our instructors provide thorough reviews throughout the day to ensure all participants feel confident and prepared for the evaluation process.

Do I have to kneel on the floor?

Practical skills on manikins are typically practiced on the floor to simulate real-life emergency scenarios.

How long is my certification valid?

The Canadian Red Cross CPR “C” certification is nationally recognized and remains valid for three years. Depending on your workplace or volunteer requirements, some employers may request more frequent recertification.

Is CPR “C” the same as Basic Life Support?

No. CPR “C” is the standard level of training for the general public and most workplace safety requirements. Basic Life Support (BLS) is an advanced certification specifically designed for healthcare professionals like nurses and paramedics.

Since this course involves significant hands-on practice, including kneeling and bending over manikins, we recommend wearing comfortable, flexible clothing and flat, non-slip clean footwear.
