  • Participants must be physically able to perform the required skills.

Course Information - STANDARD FIRST AID

  • Standard First Aid courses provide basic first aid knowledge to care for adults, children and infants in case of an emergency. There are some variations in the courses to suite different areas of specialization and occupations. At the conclusion of the course, there is a multiple choice written exam. Upon successful completion, participants receive a national Red Cross First Aid Certificate valid for 3 years. These Standard First Aid courses do NOT provide WorkSafeBC Level 1 certification.

  • Our CPR courses teach basic first aid and CPR techniques that can be applied at home or work. All public CPR courses now include training in Automated External Defibrillation (AED). Upon completion of these courses, participants will receive a national Red Cross CPR and AED certificate.

    How do I know if I need a Red Cross or WorkSafe BC course?
    The difference between Red Cross and Worksafe BC courses are that Red Cross will certify you to perform First Aid on the general public. WorkSafe BC will certify you to perform First Aid on your co-workers.
